Ngā Toi Māori

I am a multi-faceted artist with Kai Tahu and Te Ati awa ancestry, based in Waitahanui. I founded a puppet troupe in 1995 called Toro Pikopiko Puppets, creating 16 original Te Ao Maori Puppet Shows, as well as a Te Reo Maori TV and Radio series called 'Toro Pikopiko'. Our troupe is still active in the puppetry arena and we are currently making an audiobook series for Radio NZ called Toro Pikopiko Tales.

I am a playwright with 6 professional productions of plays going back to the 1980's. I am also a musician and composer with more than 100 APRA registered waiata. As well as having a puppetry collection numbering in the hundreds, I have also carved many creations out of pumice, pounamu and punga which have been circulating around the country and the world for the last 30 years.
