Kia ora! Got an exhibition, gig, workshop, or creative event coming up? Great news — listing it on the Creative Taupō website is simple, and it helps spread the word to the wider community.

Thanks to a clever partnership with Eventfinda, your event listing gets synced automatically — no double handling needed!

Step 1: Create Your Event on Eventfinda

To get started, head over to Eventfinda and sign up or log in.

When you’re creating your event, make sure you:

  • Set the Area/City to Waikato
  • Set the first Town/Suburb to Lake Taupō
  • Set the second Town/Suburb to the venue’s closest town (Mangakino, Reporoa, Taupō or Tūrangi).

This ensures your event is picked up by the Creative Taupō website.

Step 2: Choose a Category

Most creative-related categories will sync to our site automatically — just pick the one that best suits your event (e.g. Arts, Theatre, Music, Workshops). Events in the Sports and Outdoors category will no be listed on the website.

Step 3: Complete the Eventfinda Setup

Eventfinda has a clear, step-by-step setup process. Just follow along and fill out the details:

  • Dates, times, and venue
  • Ticket info (if applicable)
  • Event description
  • Images and promotional material

Eventfinda’s approval process:

  • 1–2 business days for ticketed events
  • Up to 3 business days for non-ticketed events

Once your event is approved and live, it will appear on Creative Taupō the next day — our site updates event listings each evening.

What Happens Next?

After your event is live on Eventfinda:

  • It will automatically appear on Creative Taupō — no extra work required
  • Your event listing will match the Eventfinda (and Love Taupō!) listings
  • When the event is over, it will disappear from the directory on its own — too easy!

My event is live on Eventfinda, but not showing on Creative Taupō?
This could be due to an incorrect location or category. Send us a message with your Eventfinda URL and we’ll take a look on our end.

How do I get paid for ticket sales?
All payments are handled directly through Eventfinda (or whatever ticketing option you chose when creating your event). Creative Taupō doesn’t process or manage any ticketing or financial transactions.

Can you list my event that isn’t on Eventfinda?
No, we only display events listed on Eventfinda as this is the most popular platform, and it makes the process smooth for everyone involved. We’re open to suggestions if there’s another event site you think we should connect to.

By listing your event through Eventfinda with the right settings, it’ll appear on Creative Taupō automatically and seamlessly. One less thing to worry about while you plan your event!
