The May Midday Concert Series presents Paul Saker-Norrish, a Wellington-based singer/songwriter/guitarist, passionate about the power of song to change our states and thus change the world.
Paul spent his twenties in Paris, singing in various rock bands and performing solo around the local bistro scene. After a recent stint in the UK, Paul is now back in Aotearoa plying his trade for events large and small. When not animating social gatherings, Paul shares his music in prisons and rehabilitation facilities through the Nau Mai Tau Mai Community Trust.
Paul is a lifelong songwriter and also performs a wide and varied repertoire of covers, spanning folk, reggae, soul, waiata Māori and chanson Française.
Priding himself on his ability to make a song his own, bringing forth what makes a song special to him in his interpretation, he will take you down a winding path of original songs and those that influenced them, via the intimacy of a performance that doesn’t rely on many effects, just the voice, guitar and the song to tell a story.
The concert is on Friday, May 8 at St Andrew’s Anglican Church, 91 Tītīraupenga Street, entry $10, cash only (no eftpos facility). For any questions on this or other midday concerts, contact Tracey (027 240 9228).
