This year’s Midday Concert Series begins on the auspicious Friday, March 13 but don’t expect to hear the screeching stabs of Bernard Herrmann’s score for ‘Psycho’.

Passione is an Auckland-based string quartet committed to delivering high-quality chamber music with a clear, contemporary voice.

Since forming in early 2024, the group has performed throughout Tāmaki Makaurau and across the mōtū (nation), bringing thoughtful, well-crafted programmes to a wide range of audiences.
Members of the ensemble have all benefited from guidance by leading musicians, including intensive coaching from the New Zealand String Quartet and the Australian String Quartet in Adelaide. They are also a part of the Auckland Philharmonia Aspiring Musicians Programme.

Passione play a range of music from classical Mozart, Ravel and Bach to contemporary Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran and Coldplay through to George Gershwin and Cole Porter.

The concert at St Andrew’s Anglican Church runs from 12-1pm. Entry $10, cash only.
