The annual Taupō Art Connection held over King’s Birthday Weekend attracted good numbers.

Organiser Lorraine Cholmondeley-Smith says the different venues had a pleasing number of viewers and local artists with works on display had managed quite a few sales.

Lorraine’s own acrylic works were on display at Bubu Cafe in Nukuhau, alongside Shelley Flower’s acrylic and oil paintings and Verna Jensen’s playful ceramics.

Other artists involved in the trail also reported an encouraging number of visitors to their homes or studios. In all 26 had works on show at their own studios or galleries or together in locations such as the Waipahihi Hall.
