The Taupō District Council is opening the council chambers for a fun afternoon designed especially for rangatahi (youth).
The Kai and Kōrero in the Chambers event is on Friday, October 9 from 3pm–5pm in the
Taupō District Council Chambers.
The event is recommended for 15–20-year-olds- but council staff say they are happy to take people who are a bit younger or older.
Those participating will be able to meet councillors, take on a fun debate challenge, ask questions, find out how local decisions are made and learn how young people can have their say.
Groups are welcome too.
And as an incentive designed specifically for youth hungering for representative power, there will also be free kai.
